The TerraShare Server is a multi-tier, client-server application, based on
Microsoft COM+, that contains the rigorous design features you expect in an
enterprise system – support for distributed servers, multiprocessors,
transaction processing, and more.
The server module contains the business logic that manages and tracks all of
the geospatial data and metadata distributed throughout the enterprise. The
business logic is built over a data access layer that uses state-of-the-art
relational databases, Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server, to power the data engine.
In addition, all of the TerraShare Server modules are built using Microsoft
Transaction Server technology to provide unparalleled transaction security, as
well as outstanding scalability.
